Upper Age Limit: - 50 (Fifty) years for Assistant Professor Posts and 35 (Thirty Five) Yrs. for Senior Resident
Posts, as on 30-04-2012. Relaxable in exceptional cases. Relaxation: As per Bihar Govt. rule (i.e. SC/ST–05
years, MBC/OBC-03 yrs.  and female candidate of all category-03 yrs.). Benefit of reservation will be given to
Bihar State domicile only. Handicapped candidate will be given the benefit of reservation and relaxation as per
rule of Govt. of Bihar. Persons working in Government Institution shall be given relaxation as per rule.
Candidates on lien shall also be accepted.
(A)  For the post of Assistant Professor:-
1.  A Medical Qualification included in the I or II schedule or part– II of the third schedule to the Indian
Medical Council Act. 1956 (Persons possessing qualifications included in part– II or third  schedule
should also full-fill the conditions specified in section 13 (3) of the Act.)
2. Post-graduate qualification e.g. MD/M.S. or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the
respective discipline/subject.
Experience:
03 (Three) Yrs. teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of
speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD/MS or a qualification recognized equivalent
thereto. 2/Adv. Asst. Prof.-Sr.Res-2012
(B)       For the post of Senior Resident:
1. A Medical qualification as included in schedule I & II of MCI Act.
2. Recognized P.G. qualification of MD/MS in specialization concerned or allied Surgical/Medical
speciality.
3. The candidate must be registered with Central/State Medical Council.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Application form can be downloaded from our website http: www.igims.org.  The cost of application form
(Non Refundable) is Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred) and Rs.125/- (One Hundred Twenty Five) for
SC/ST candidates payable at Patna in the form of Demand Draft in favour of Director, IGIMS, Patna.
Those who downloads the application form from Institute website, shall have to submit a demand
daft of Rs. 500/- or Rs.125/- (as applicable) in favour of Director, IGIMS, payable at Patna.
2. In addition to Pay, NPA, other allowances will be admissible as per Institute rule for medical post.
3. Number of vacancy, in each department and in each post may increase or decrease.
4. The posts are non-practicing private practice of any kind is prohibited and can be terminated; if found
indulging in private practice and stay in the campus is compulsory, if accommodation is provided.
5. Reservation point and Relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable as per rule of Govt. of Bihar.
Benefit of reservation will be given to Bihar State domicile only and the applicant out-side the
State of Bihar will not be entitled for the benefit of reservation. Handicapped person/candidate will
be given the benefit of reservation and relaxation as per rule of Govt. of Bihar. Persons working in
Govt. Institution shall be given relaxation as per rule.
6. Employees of Government/Semi Government department must apply through proper channel. In case-of
advance application  “No Objection Certificate” must be submitted at the time of interview, otherwise
they will not be considered for selection.
7. Lien can be considered.
8. Mere selection by the Selection Committee does not give right of appointment to the candidate.
The Institute reserves the right of appointment of the candidate/s recommended by the Selection
Committee.
9. The Selection Committee’s panel will be valid for 06 (Six) months only.
10. The applications completed in all respect along with self attested photocopies of certificates/testimonials
(Proof of Age, Qualification, Experience, Registration with MCI/State Medical Council) and recent
passport size photograph as well as requisite fee should reach by registered/speed post/Currier to the
Director, IGIMS, Sheikhpura, Patna-14 (Bihar) on or before: 09-05-2012 till 04:00 P.M. “Institute shall
not be responsible for any lapses or delay by the Postal Department or Courier Agency”. The
incomplete application and application received after last date will not be accepted.
11. SC/ST candidate must attach their caste certificate issued by Circle Officer of respective District along
with application form. BC-I & BC-II candidate must attach their Caste Certificate along-with Certificate for
exemption from creamy layer duly issued by the  Circle Officer of respective District along-with
application form if claimed for reservation.
12. Candidate must write Advt. No. and name of the post and department, on the top of the envelope
in bold letter.
13. The Director of the Institute reserves the right to reject/accept any or all the applications without assigning
any reason.
14. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
15. Separate application duly completed in all respect for each post should be submitted.
16. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the Interview.
