Staff Selection Commission of India known for its name as SSC has released a new advertisement cum notification on the behalf of Food Corporation of India (FCI) on 25 Aug 2012 regarding to the recruitment process of the Assistant Grade-III in various departments. This is a Combined Recruitment for Assistant Grade III in General, Depot, Technical and Account Cadres in the FCI – 2013.
The Food Corporation of India (भारतीय खाद्य निगम) is one of the largest Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) of the government of India, dealing with Food grain supply-chain management. FCI has been set up by Government of India under Food Corporation Act 1964 to ensure safety and well distribution of food and grain. FCI has been divided into the 5 regions- North, East, West, South and North-East zone.
Government of India has given instruction to SSC to conduct an examination to recruit the candidates for the vacant posts of the AGIII in General, Accounts, Depot and Technical cadres. Although FCI is under the government of India, but the selected employees through this recruitment will not be in the status of the central government duty.

General- 857 Posts,
Accounts- 650 Posts,
Technical- 3281 Posts,
Depot- 1756 Posts.
Zonal Vacancy distributions are as follows-
North Zone: Total 3023 Posts
East Zone: Total 753 Posts
South Zone: Total 1659 Posts
West Zone: Total 869 Posts
North-East Zone: Total 241 Posts
The entire qualification and Age limit is as on 1st Aug 2012.
Eligibility and Qualification:
For General Department:
For the AG-III (General), applicant should have done graduation in any discipline from the government recognized universities.
For Accounts Department:
For AG-III (Accounts), it is expected from the applicants that he/ she have bachelor degree in commerce.
For Technical Department:
For AG-III (Technical), candidates must have either BSc in Agriculture or BSc with any one of the subjects from Botany/ Zoolozy/ Bio-Technology/ Bio-Chemistry/ Microbiology/ Food Science or BE/ B Tech in Food Science/ Food Science & Technology/ Agriculture Engineering/ Bio-Technology.
For Depot Department:
For the AG-III (Depot), applicant should have done graduation in any discipline from the government recognized universities.
Note: for all the above posts, candidates must have proficiency in Computer.
Selection Process and Exam Pattern:
Selection for the posts is made through written test. Written examination will consist of two papers which dates may be same or different. After selection in the written test all the selected candidates will have to go through Computer Proficiency Test (CPT).
Paper I will be for all departments i.e. General, Accounts, Depot and Technical, Paper II will be for all except technical. For technical, Paper III will be designed.
Evaluation of marks on paper II and Paper III will be only for those who will qualify the Paper I.

Syllabus of FCI Combined Recruitment for AG-III (General, Accounts, Technical, Depot)
FCI recruitment will consist of two papers. First one is preliminary and another is main paper, but both will be of objective type. First paper (Paper-I) is compulsory for all the posts. Paper II will be for General, Accounts and Depot and Paper III will be for Technical cadre. Paper II and Paper III will be only for those, who will have got a minimum cut off marks based on merit (merit will be made by SSC). Next round is CPT i.e. Computer Proficiency Test which will be qualifying in nature. But for this CPT, merit will be created based on total score in ‘Paper I and Paper II’ OR ‘Paper I and Paper III’.

Application Fee:
Application fee (examination fee) is Rs 200/- in the form of Challan drawn from any branches of State Bank of India (SBI) or Internet Banking. SC/ ST/ Ex-Servicemen/ Physically Handicapped and Women applicants are exempted from the payment of fee.
How to Apply:
Application for the above posts is submitted only in online mode in the http://ssconline.nic.in. Candidates need not to send any documents to SSC after online submission of the application.
Important Dates:
Application Submission: For Part I registration- from 25th Aug 2012 to 19th Sept 2012. And For Part II it is up to 21st Sep 2012
Written Examination: Paper I will be on 11 Nov 2012 and Paper II and Paper III will be on 6th Jan 2012. These are tentative dates.
