The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad is a premier autonomous R & D Institute under the Societies Act funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India that has been established to provide services and to undertake R & D in DNA Fingerprinting, DNA Diagnostics and other areas of modern biology.
SECRETARY [01 Post for COE – I (Phase-II), Un Reserved] (Post Code No.01)
Age limit : 45 years
Revised Pay Band : 15600 – 39100 Plus Grade Pay – 5400 (PB-3)
Essential Qualifications : Graduate with proficiency in English shorthand (120 wpm) and English typing (50 wpm). Candidates should be able to handle work processor, conversant with secretarial practice or passed stenographer’s examination conducted by Staff Selection Commission.
Job Requirements :
Stenographic / Secretariat work of Senior Officers, maintenance of records, files, appointments, liaison work, liaison with Administrative Section, maintenance of performance records of staff, handling confidential documents, preparation of brief of cases, put up to Senior Officers.
TECHNICAL OFFICER – II (01 Post for WTDBT Alliance Project, Un Reserved) (Post Code No.02)
Age limit : 30 years
Revised Pay Band : 9300 – 34800 Plus Grade Pay – 4600 (PB-2)
Essential Qualifications :
First Class B Sc or equivalent with 08 years relevant experience / M Sc or equivalent with 04 years relevant experience / B Tech or equivalent with 04 years relevant experience.
Desirable Qualification & Experience :
M Sc in Life Sciences with 04 years relevant experience. Expertise in basic molecular biology and biochemistry techniques. Experience in laboratory management.
TECHNICAL OFFICER – I (02 Posts, one post for COE – II and another post for Core Cadre, both are Un Reserved) (Post Code No.03 & 04)
Age limit : 30 years
Revised Pay Band : 9300 – 34800 Plus Grade Pay – 4200 (PB-2)
Educational Qualifications and Experience :
Essential Qualifications : First Class B Sc with 05 years experience OR M Sc or equivalent with 02 years experience.
Desirable Experience : Experience in related areas of Molecular Biology like DNA / RNA extraction from Blood / Tissues, PCR, Electrophoresis, Genotyping, Sequencing and their interpretations.
Job Requirements :
To Carry out DNA bases tests for patients with Genetic Disorders.
Fee : Rs.100/- drawn in favour of the Director, CDFD

General Instructions:
1. All the advertised positions carry usual allowances as admissible to CentralGovernment Employees of the same pay and status posted at Hyderabad.Higher initial start may be considered in deserving cases.
2. The number of vacancies advertised against each category is provisional andmay vary at the time of selection, if more vacancies with identical jobrequirements become available at the time of selection
3. It may be possible to consider appointments with one grade lower than thegrade advertised (in the same group) depending upon the recommendationsof the Selection Committee.
4. Designations of various posts may change.
5. Mere fulfilling minimum qualification will not entitle a candidate for beingcalled for interview. The applications will be screened by a Committee andcandidates found eligible as per criteria will be called for interview. Thedecision of the Controlling Authority will be final in this respect.
6. Applications from employees working in Government Departments, PublicSector Undertakings and Government funded research agencies will beconsidered only if forwarded through proper channel and with a clearcertificate that the applicant will be relieved within one month of the receipt ofappointment order.
7. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence, political orotherwise will automatically disqualify the candidate for the post.
8. Age limits shall be reckoned as on the closing date for receipt of application.

The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) is an autonomous organization funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. CDFD receives funding also from other agencies on specific collaborative projects.In addition, DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics services provided by the centre support some of the activities. The Centre is recognized by the University of Hyderabad for pursuing Ph.D. programme in Life Sciences. The centre is equipped with world class state-of-the-art instrumentation and computing infrastructure to facilitate working in frontier areas of research in Life Sciences.In addition, DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics services provided by the centre support some of the activities. The Centre is recognized by the University of Hyderabad for pursuing Ph.D. programme in Life Sciences. The centre is equipped with world class state-of-the-art instrumentation and computing infrastructure to facilitate working in frontier areas of research in Life Sciences. There are presently nineteen groups working on diverse research areas and the centre continues to attract leaders in related disciplines. CDFD is supported with a strong Bioinformatics facility.CDFD is located in the fastest growing metropolitan city of Hyderabad, more popularly known as Cyberabad for its initiative and pioneering role in developing the state during the past few years in the area of information technology.
